Florence – Don’t forget to look up!

To often in the race to visit well known museums or sites in a country or city and secure that perfect social media photograph, time to appreciate the true beauty of architecture and art can be missed. Florence is a perfect example! While there is a “wow” building, statue or piece of art around most corners, often at eye level small details and the story of a building’s origins are obscured by modern day commercial activity.

The photos in this blog are the result of my own short trip to Florence earlier this year.

They are all popular busy tourist sites but at all of them I was left with one resounding last impression,  DONT FORGET TO LOOK UP! It certainly improved my appreciation and understanding of each and every site.
